Avian Flu, Bird Flu, H5N1, Avian Influenza
Ethnic minority communities are at the highest risk for Avian Flu, yet they are among the least to have access to accurate information about the disease. The immediate threat of an Avian Flu pandemic prompts us to inform ethnic groups about some preventive measures their communities can take. In Indonesia, Dr. Indarto and SIL member, Dr. Dianne Mathews, assisted by Larry Mathews and Dennis Conroy, have developed materials about risk and prevention in those communities.
SIL International is making the materials available in a shellbook format to anyone who wants them for immediate use and for translation and distribution. The materials may be freely downloaded and shared.
