You must be careful about when you schedule training programs, especially in rural contexts. You will have to consider daily, weekly, and seasonal schedules.

  • Make a complete list of training activities to carry out.
  • Use tools such as a village calendar to help in scheduling.
  • Work with community leaders to determine the best time to schedule training activities.
  • Work with other interested agencies regarding the scheduling of training activities.
  • Decide when and where to do the training.
  • Prepare the actual schedule for the program or for the time period for which you have funding.
  • Share the schedule with community leaders, other agencies, and program personnel; ask for their input.
